The Simplex 4098-9794 is a TrueAlarm sounder sensor base a detector base with a built-in 88 dBA piezoelectric sounder and connection terminals for a remote alarm LED indicator. The sounder base eliminates the need for a separate notification appliance in every room where in-room audio coverage is required by code. Installs like a standard TrueAlarm base with additional wiring for sounder circuit and optional remote LED / relay terminals.
- Mount 4-inch electrical box. Use Adapter Plate 4098-9832 for surface-mounted boxes.
- Run SLC wiring to box. Connect SLC+ and SLC– to base SLC terminals.
- If using remote LED: run 2-conductor wire from base LED terminals to indicator mounting location.
- If using unsupervised relay: connect controlled device wiring to relay terminals.
- Mount 4098-9794 base to electrical box.
- Install sensor head with quarter-turn clockwise twist-lock.
- At Simplex panel: program sounder output for this device address — set activation pattern (Temporal-3, continuous, etc.).
- Test: activate test alarm and verify 88 dBA sounder sounds, LED illuminates, relay activates.
