The Simplex 4090-9121 Security Monitor IAM is designed to provide both power and communications through a two-wire IDNet circuit from a 4100ES, 4100U, or 4010ES fire alarm control panel. It offers location-specific addressability for up to five initiating devices, such as door or window magnetic switch contacts and other compatible security devices.
This IAM monitors circuit wiring connections to either normally closed (NC) or normally open (NO) dry contacts (one type per IAM).
Operation:

When the circuit is armed (e.g., after working hours), any abnormal activity—such as shorts, opens, or other issues—triggers a Priority 2 alarm at the fire alarm panel.

When the circuit is disarmed (e.g., during normal hours), conditions such as opens, shorts, or abnormalities are tracked as events.

Depending on the point type, wiring issues may be reported as a trouble condition or logged as events.
