The Simplex 4098-9792 is a standard sensor base in the TrueAlarm 4098-series – one of two plain mounting bases in the family (alongside the 4098-9789). It provides the mounting foundation and SLC electrical connection for TrueAlarm addressable sensor heads, with no integrated auxiliary functions.
Both the 4098-9789 ($35) and 4098-9792 ($50) serve the same fundamental purpose – a standard base for the majority of detector locations. When ordering replacement bases for an existing system, always match the model number printed on the back of the existing base in the building. Mixing 4098-9789 and 4098-9792 is functionally acceptable but creates inconsistency in the as-built documentation.

Identical procedure to the 4098-9789 standard base installation.
- Step 1: Mount 4-inch electrical box at detector location.
- Step 2: Run SLC wiring and connect SLC+ / SLC– to base terminals.
- Step 3: Secure 4098-9792 base to electrical box.
- Step 4: Install sensor head with quarter-turn clockwise twist-lock.
- Step 5: Initialize at panel, verify address, test alarm.
